Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Overview 1. Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, equipment and supplies necessary to perform the scope of work described herein. 2. Contractor shall inspect and become familiar with all locations and existing conditions of areas defined herein. 3. Contractor and a representative of the City shall meet prior to the commencement of work. 4. All work shall be performed in a professional workmanlike manner. 5. Contractor shall be responsible for organizing operations. 6. All trimming work (power and/or hand equipment) shall be conducted simultaneously with mowing and shall not be completed more than two working days behind, mowing for a given area. 7. Contractor must make all efforts to protect existing work, materials, equipment, improvements, utilities, structures and vegetation. B. Equipment 1. Contractor shall, at its own expense, furnish all equipment necessary to perform the work described in this Contract. 2. Such equipment may consist of (but not limited to): a. Power driven hand-operated sweepers b. Manually operated grass cutting equipment c. Vacuum or blower equipment d. Street sweeper e. Gas power string trimers 3. All equipment shall be in safe and good operating order. 4. Equipment used under this Contract must be kept in good repair and properly maintained. 5. If the Director or his designee determines that the Contractor’s equipment in insufficient to adequately perform the work in the specified time period, the Contractor shall provide replacement equipment subject to the Director’s approval. C. Damage 1. Contractor shall inspect each location prior to each visit for existing damage, prior to commencement of work, and report the damage to the City. 2. Damage caused to City or private property as a result of Contractor’s performance shall be remedied at the expense of the Contractor. D. Supervision 1. Contractor must have on-site supervision at all times. 2. Contractor must assign one individual, of significant decision-making capacity, who will serve as the Contractor’s primary representative to City. The Supervisor must have adequate experience and authority to perform supervisory functions over Contractor’s employees, assure the quality of the work in accordance with the Contract, and resolve problems that may arise. 3. The Supervisor must furnish the City with a cellular phone number to allow for immediate direct communication with the Supervisor each day that work is being performed. 4. During the Contract period, the Supervisor shall be readily available to meet with the City’s Director of DPS or his designee for inspection of the work performed, so that if the work is deemed unsatisfactory, there will be sufficient time for the Contractor to make necessary corrections.
