The work of the Contract generally consists of the removal and replacement of the original tar & gravel roof, insulation and coated PVC membrane roofing systems with a SBS modified-bitumen built-up roofing system. The roof area is supported by a wood roof deck over the entire building. Work entails the installation of a mechanically fastened base sheet vapor retarder, new code-compliant, flat-stock and tapered thermal insulation components, including an adhered high-density gypsum cover-board. Work includes the installation of a cold-process, multipleply, modified-bitumen roofing assembly, as specified. Ancillary and associated work involves miscellaneous carpentry, plumbing, rooftop accessories and sheetmetal fabrications.
