Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide Ice Resurfacer(s) The Ice Resurfacer(s) shall be utilized by Department personnel to resurface and maintain a rink arena’s ice surface. Specifically, the ice resurfacer(s) shall be used to level an ice rink surface, pickup and store ice shavings, and distribute water for refreeze to restore a clean, level ice surface. The ice resurfacer shall be powered by an electric motor fueled by a rechargeable battery source. The resurfacer(s) shall by 4-wheel drive with front steering and disc brakes. The resurfacer(s) shall have an ice shaving and conditioning unit, an ice shavings storage tank with hydraulic dump capability, and resurfacing water storage. General The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is requesting proposals from vendors to provide electric ice resurfacer(s). The manufacturer will be asked to provide a schematic identifying the resurfacers dimensions so the Department can verify it fits ice arena accessibility and storage areas. Drive Train, Chassis, Transmission, Brakes and Tires The Ice resurfacer shall be powered by a traction drive electric motor. The electric motor shall be fueled by rechargeable battery source. The resurfacer chassis shall be constructed of structural steel or suitable substitute. The resurfacer shall be equipped with 4-wheel disk brakes and axles shall be sufficient enough to support the weight of the machine and operator plus a full dump tank and water tank. The resurfacer steering control shall be front wheel via operator control. The resurfacer shall be equipped with an appropriate braking system. The resurfacer shall have steel belted radial tires with studs for traction.
