Specifications include, but are not limited to: Both design and construction of the Interchange of Interstate 495 and Interstate 90. This includes, but is not limited to, the design and reconstruction of I-495 and I90, all associated ramps, and Fruit Street at I-495 including construction of all bridges within the Project limits. Several culverts within the Project limits will be replaced and/or upgraded. The Project also requires the design and construction of multiple retaining walls to limit the project footprint within wetland resource areas. The Project includes significant updates to the highway drainage system including the design and construction of multiple stormwater BMPs in accordance with Wetlands Protection Act requirements and in compliance with the Wetlands Variance. This project includes wetland resource area restoration, mitigation, and monitoring, in compliance with the environmental permits. The Project also includes the development and implementation of an invasive species management plan, site restoration, and plantings of surroundings impacted by the construction. Other Project elements include Survey, Geotechnical design, Utility Coordination and Protection (including fiber optic mainline), Traffic Engineering, Pavement Markings and Signage, Landscaping, Environmental Permitting and Compliance, Lighting, ITS, Public Outreach and Coordination, and Hazardous Materials Assessment & Remediation.
