Specifications include, but are not limited to: Specimen Analysis System (SAS) – Evofinder server license The SAS software license is for a single (permanent) fixed license for use with the Evofinder system, providing the server functionality for its associated client workstations. (At least one DAS is required for use with the SAS.) The SAS provides the following functions for the Evofinder system: - Contains and manages the Evofinder database - Stores image data for saved samples - Performs correlation functions queued by the associated client workstations - Provides image data and correlation results to client workstations - Provides administrative functions for: o User management o System configuration o Data backup, integrity checks, and management o Administrative reports (system logs, audit trails, etc.) The Evofinder SAS license is a permanent license and has no annual licensing or maintenance fees.; Data Acquisition Station (DAS) – client software license The DAS software license is for a single (permanent) fixed license for use with the Evofinder Scanner and Specimen Analysis System (server) to provide an interface with the Evofinder system for purposes of: - Scanning Bullet samples for the acquisition of the full bearing surface to generate a single 3D image for each sample to be used with the Evofinder system. - Scanning Cartridge Case samples for the acquisition of the full head stamp and (optionally) side surface to generate a single 3D image for the Evofinder system. - Retrieve images from the server for purposes of visualization and virtual comparison microscopy (VCM) to allow for side-by-side comparison of any samples. - Adjust the sample images for sample orientation, sample position, lighting orientation, magnification, automatic image alignment, and contrast modes for images. - Measurement and annotation of sample features and comparison notes. - Queue correlation functions (searches) from an identified sample to defined sample sets within the database and review the results of the correlations. - Export results from correlations for use with other software applications and LIMs systems. - Review samples, their associated meta-data, sample images, and associations (links) to other samples within the database. - Create links between samples confirmed from the same weapon while being able to view any links associating samples to different cases. - Addition, review, or modification of feature labels on samples. - Export and import image files to allow sharing between compatible systems (Evofinder or X3P, conforming to ISO 25178-72 standards). - Generate, save, and print reports. Evofinder Scanner Physical scanning system for Evofinder system that is used with the DAS license for scanning and generation of 3D images for bullet and cartridge case samples. Scanner functionality can support the following: - Scan pristine, deformed, or fragments of bullets up to 23 mm in diameter and 35 mm in length to capture the bearing surface for visualization and comparison of land engraved areas (LEAs), groove engravings, and slippage marks. - Scan cartridge cases, both the headstamp and side, up to 25 mm in diameter and 75 mm in length to capture the full surfaces for visualization and comparison of striker marks (firing pin impressions), breech face impressions, and ejector marks. - Image acquisition using the following techniques: o Floating frame technology o Edge shifting technology o Slope compensation technology o Photogrammetry o Focus variation o Multi-sided illumination - Scan time of the full bearing surface for a 9mm bullet is approximately 2.5 min. - Scan time of a full head stamp, including the striker mark, for a 9 mm sample is approximately 2.5 min. - Scanner resolution 3.5 µm for X and Y axis, 3.0 for Z-axis ***Note: The Evofinder scanner requires no consumable materials.
