Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Mental Health (DMH), through this RFR, is seeking to award one statewide Contract to purchase a curriculum for the purpose of training individuals with Lived Experience to work as Certified Peer Specialists in a variety of health care settings. The curriculum must be based on the SAMHSA’s Core Competencies for Peer Workers in Behavioral Health Services . The curriculum must be flexible enough to address Massachusetts priorities including, but not limited to, preparing Certified Peer Specialists to work within an integrated health care system (meaning a health care system or setting that addresses the whole needs of an individual, including mental health, substance use, and physical and social needs). The curriculum must also meet the requirements of Subsection 4.4.1. In addition, the Contractor will be expected to train on the approved curriculum and test individuals on the competencies to insure individuals have the necessary skills and knowledge to work as Certified Peer Specialists. To maximize participation in the Program, the Contractor must locate and schedule training and testing flexibly across the state. The Contractor will issue and track certification for individuals who complete the training and achieve a passing score on the competency examination.
