Specifications include, but are not limited to: ITEM 1: HOT MIX LAID IN PLACE - (MACHINE WORK FOR PARKING LOTS, SIDEWALKS & TRENCHES) a. City will be responsible for preparing trench saw cutting, disposal, compaction and binder course. Contractor shall be responsible for supplying small paving machine with operator and laborer. Trenches will vary in size from 125 sq. yds. to 500 sq. yds. Contractor shall be responsible for supplying hot mix laid in place at a +/- 1-1/2” thickness. b. City will be responsible for police details. Contractor must be able to start the work within five (5) business days upon notification of the job. ITEM 2: ADJUSTMENT OF MANHOLES, CATCH-BASIN STRUCTURES AND WATER GATES a. Contractor shall cut the existing pavement or concrete with a saw or pneumatic hammer not less than 1 foot nor more than 2 feet around the outside diameter of the existing castings. All materials within the limit of the cut shall be excavated to a depth needed to adjust and install concrete collars. b. Castings are adjusted as follows: When the grade of the structure requires a change up to 6 inches, the existing masonry shall be removed to such a depth as directed by the DPW Superintendent or his representative and new masonry shall be constructed to conform to the new grade. Poured-in-place collars shall be placed 1 foot around the outside diameter of the casting, after the final setting to the proposed grade. 1.5 inches shall be allowed above top of the concrete for bituminous concrete pavement.
