Specifications include, but are not limited to: The selected contractor will adaptively prioritize the following activities based on the success rate encountered at individual sites within a defined region or counties of Massachusetts (to be specified in proposal and finalized in scope of work). (1) Convene an advisory group comprised of at least Wood Turtle 3 experts. (2) Survey for and document viable occurrences using standardized survey protocols. (3) Document population status using capture-recapture methods, where possible. (4) Map suitable but unoccupied habitat using aerial photographs and site visits. (5) Record the seasonal movements of wild-born adults with radiotelemetry. (6) Locate and protect nests at focal sites. (7) Headstart hatchlings from protected nests for 1 year. (8) Release headstarted young at natal sites and restoration sites. (9) Track the survivorship and movements of at least 20 headstarted turtles using telemetry
