Specifications include, but are not limited to: · Must be able to prevent snow and ice build-up on the third rail when sprayed as recommended by the supplier. · Must consist of, a non-EPA regulated, low aquatic toxicity, non-corrosive single-phase composition of water, Propylene Glycol, Diethylene Glycol and a synergistic exocellular polysaccharide. · Must have shear thinning properties, ("Non-Newtonian") such that at low shear anti-icer will maintain high viscosity. After being sprayed onto third rail at temperatures of 40ºF or below, anti-icer will not run off third rail vertical and horizontal surface and onto the ground. · Must have shear thinning properties, ("Non-Newtonian") such that at high shear anti-icer must be able to be sprayed at all temperatures through existing application equipment and provide a uniform surface coating through all temperature ranges. · Must be able to be stored outdoors with no heat protection.
