The Town of Arlington, acting through its Department of Planning & Community Development (hereinafter referred to as DPCD) and Conservation Commission, seeks proposals from consultants for launching an Urban Wilds Initiative aimed at enhancing the ecological integrity of 14 properties owned by the Conservation Commission. This initiative will begin with a landscape ecological analysis of these sites, examining their locations, proximity and connectivity, plant and pollinator communities, and surrounding land use. The findings from this analysis will inform the design of the spaces, focusing on appropriate native and climate-resilient plantings that foster biodiversity while promoting passive recreational activities through the inclusion of elements such as benches and paths where appropriate.
