The Board is requesting Bid Proposals (“Bids”) for the provision of student transportation services for students residing in the cities and towns of Bristol County, Massachusetts, to and from the School, including but not limited to home-to-school, summer school transportation if required, late bus service, and extra-curricular busing, including field trips and sports trips, as ordered by the School. As of the date hereof, the Board currently estimates that it requires eleven (11) Type I (71- 77passenger) buses for regular home-to-school transportation. Minibuses may be substituted for full-sized buses as ridership dictates, and nine (9) passenger vans may be used for late buses, athletic trips and extracurricular transportation at the discretion of the School. The School calendar calls for one hundred and eighty (180) regular school days, with five (5) additional days reserved in the calendar for inclement weather. Standard bell times currently are 8:00AM and 2:30PM, subject to future adjustment by the Board. Early dismissals and late starts may be scheduled as required. Late bus routes and athletic practice routes are skeletal in nature to cover the county with pre-designated group stops. Further information is set forth herein.
