Description: Proposed father-specific programs must focus on engaging fathers in existing agency services and/or new initiatives. General Objectives: • Support agencies' ability to provide father-specific programming • Provide initial seed funding to encourage longer-term agency investment in father-specific programming • Support innovative approaches to father engagement and retention in programming • Support fathers in developing nurturing relationships with their children and families • Build fathers’ parenting confidence and skills in their role as parents • Facilitate connections between fathers, encouraging them to build supportive relationships with peers • Connect fathers to community organizations, local resources, and programming • Address current gaps in programming for fathers • Create a supportive and nurturing environment for fathers and their children. • Promote the role that fathers play in supporting their children’s growth and development. • Provide experiences and opportunities that facilitate bonding between fathers and their children. • Encourage programming that will support fathers to be better coparents, and • Model father-inclusive programming for community partners.
