1. The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, and materials required to perform all necessary snow removal and ice treatment activities on the property locations described in Appendix A. 2. All work shall be performed before 5:30 a.m., with lots and sidewalks clean, allowing for employees to enter the facility by 6:00 a.m. The best possible conditions shall be maintained during ongoing storms that extend into or start during times when the schools are operational. 3. The Contractor will supply all labor, snowplows, front-end loaders, dump trucks, shovels, snow blowers, ice melt, salt, salt spreaders (hand & truck), and safety equipment needed to complete the work. Salt or ice melt will not be stored on the school's property without the school's approval. 4. Plowing and salting of all paved areas and entrances, including clearing/de-icing of all walkways during storms, to permit access and movement of staff if snowfall of more than one (1) inch occurs. It is the Contractor's responsibility to return to the property as needed to ensure the entrances, drive aisles, and sidewalks remain free from ice and snow. At no time shall there be a hazardous/life safety condition. 5. When surfaces are slippery and/or temperatures are at or below freezing, the contractor is responsible for applying ice melt, which must be spread on sidewalks and walkways, and a salt/sand mixture must be spread onto all the parking lots and roadways throughout the entirety of the academic year. 6. Approved Areas: Contractor will pile snow in areas approved by the school's representative. This must be accomplished by blocking a minimum of employee parking spots. The contractor must also have the ability to remove snow off-site, in the event that they are contacted by the school's representative to do so. The cost of offsite removal, including transportation and disposal, should be included in the bid.
