1. Main Campus: i. Provide the necessary requested equipment and labor to assist the University’s Facilities staff in snow removal, de-icing and pretreatment operations for its Roadways and Parking lots. ii. Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, fuel and transportation to provide support the University during snow removal operations. iii. All work completed by the contractor must be accomplished using the contractor's owned and/or rented equipment. The equipment utilized must meet the demand of the facility in a timely manner. All equipment must be inspected to assure safe operation prior to use on the University property. Rubber tipped plows are preferred but not required. Observe all safety precautions when operating equipment in the vicinity of staff, visitors, neighbors and vehicles. iv. Contractor’s onsite supervisor shall check in with the Director of Facilities or designee to provide a list of equipment and number of contractor’s employees that have been deployed to the main campus. v. Main Campus services will be based on an as-needed basis as determined by the Director of Facilities or designee. Under normal circumstances the University will handle the removal of snow, de-icing and sanding up to four (4) inches of accumulation. vi. Contractor will be allowed to store equipment on site with the approval of the Director of Facilities or designee. Storage will be allowed during the winter months only (October 1st to April 1st). 2. Satellite - UMass School of Law: i. Under the provisions of this contract the selected contractor will have sole responsibility for snow removal, de-icing and pretreatment operations for the UMass Dartmouth Law School campus. ii. All work completed by the contractor must be accomplished using the contractor's owned and/or rented equipment. The equipment utilized must meet the demand of the facility in a timely manner. All equipment must be inspected to assure safe operation prior to use on the University property. Rubber tipped plows are preferred but not required. Observe all safety precautions when operating equipment in the vicinity of staff, visitors, neighbors and vehicles. iii. Contractor will provide Road Salt. Please provide in your response the specifications for the road salt that will be utilized. iv. Contractor will provide Eco-friendly salt for all walkways & pathways. v. All brick walkways are to be hand-shoveled, de-iced and must be kept clean throughout the storm.
