Specifications include, but are not limited to: FFollowing the severe storms in January 2024, Penzance Road in Rockport experienced significant damage, rendering it impassable between South Street and Ruthern Way. The affected area spans approximately 1300 feet in length and 25 feet in width, with 300 feet paved and 1000 feet gravel. The storms deposited sand, stones, and popplestone onto the roadway, making the area impassable. Consequently, the Town of Rockport seeks quotations for the repair of this section of roadway. The requested work and specifications are outlined as follows: Mobilization of equipment: A minimum equipment setup includes a 140 CAT Grader or equivalent, a 12 Ton Vibratory Roller/Compactor or equivalent, and a 35,000 lbs. Excavator with dozer blade or equivalent. Please provide a list of equipment to be utilized. Removal and redistribution of sand, stones, and popplestone from the paved area onto the beach, ensuring even distribution. Redistribution of stones and popplestone along the gravel roadway and beach area, followed by regrading and compacting to accommodate dense grade crushed stone. Application of dense grade crushed stone (M2.01.07) roadway gravel, 6 to 12 inches in depth as necessary along the entire gravel roadway section. This includes grading, fine grading, rolling, and compacting of the gravel roadway area. Estimated quantity of dense grade crushed stone required is approximately 463 to 926 cubic yards. Demobilization of equipment. 50% Payment Bond. Certification in OSHA training. Compliance with prevailing wage rates. Roadway work must be completed by May 24, 2024 Total Lump Sum Cost for the Requested Roadway Work Quotations must be submitted by 11:00 am on Thursday, April 4, 2024, to the DPW Office located at 34 Broadway, Rockport, MA. At such time, all quotations will be opened, and the lowest qualified bid will be awarded the contract.
