1.2.1 Parking Lot and Driveway Plowing Plowing operation shall be performed throughout the snow event At the completion of a storm all parking lots, side lots and driveways shall be cleared to bare pavement, or as close as practically possible. Plowed snow shall be pushed to one area ensuring minimal parking spots are taken and access points are not blocked. No snow shall be dumped or pushed into streets. Storm drains shall be clear. Entrances shall be cleared from post to post. Area around hydrants must be cleared; hand shoveling will be expected. Snow must not be pushed up against fences, railing or other structures that may be damaged as a result of the plowing operations. The Contractor shall assume full responsibility for all damages incurred during plowing operations and shall A) repair the damaged property, or B) provide equivalent monetary compensation. 1.2.2 Salting/De-Icing The Department Official will instruct the contractor on the application of ice melting application per site, per storm. Contractor may be asked to apply ice melting agents throughout a snow event based on accumulation. Apply a suitable granular de-icing agent (e.g., rock salt, calcium chloride) to all cleared parking lots, side lots and driveways immediately upon completion of snow clearing operations. The de-icing agent must be effective at 32 degrees Fahrenheit in preventing slips and falls.
