Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Bedford, Massachusetts (herein “The Town”) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors (“Proposers” or “Contractors”) for weekly collection, transportation, disposal and recycling services for curbside refuse and single stream recycling for all residential properties in Bedford; The Town provides collection services for all residential properties, municipal facilities and public schools, and collects refuse and single stream recyclables on a single day schedule. Dumpsters and recycling carts at municipal facilities are provided by the Contractor while wheeled trash and recycling carts for individual households are provided and maintained by the Town. The Town currently provides four weeks of leaf and yard waste collection per year (1 Spring, 3 Fall), plus one week of Christmas tree collection in January. The Town currently allows residents to schedule one bulky item for collection per week as part of the refuse collection program. Residents may also currently schedule white goods, TVs/electronics, large metal items and tires by appointment on a fee-per-item basis, paid directly to the hauler.
