support capacity building and training of PPD screening or screening of other perinatal mental health and anxiety disorders (PMADs), infrastructure support for referral and support of patients diagnosed with PPD and other PMADs, and quality improvement systems and supports for improving treatment and care of patients diagnosed with PPD or PMADs. MDPH will fund projects within Community Health Centers that address mental health conditions or improve the screening, diagnosis, referral, and support and treatment for perinatal mental health conditions. Projects can support staff training, expanded diagnosis, support systems including referral, and other supports needed to prevent and treat perinatal mental health conditions. Some examples may include: (1) establishing or expanding maternity care programs to improve the integration of perinatal mental health and behavioral health care services into community health care settings where perinatal individuals regularly receive health care services; (2) establishing or expanding group prenatal care programs or postpartum care programs that address perinatal mental health; (3) expanding existing programs that improve mental health and behavioral health for perinatal individuals, with a focus on perinatal individuals from medically underserved populations;
