1. Wind Tunnel 1.1. The wind tunnel shall be portable, indicating that it can be removed from a local storage location and set up for operation in less than an hour, and taken down and put into local storage after operation in less than an hour, by two persons with no more than basic hand tools. 1.2. The wind tunnel shall have lockable caster wheels at each bottom corner to facilitate portability. 1.3. The wind field output dimensions of the wind tunnel shall be no less than 36 inches by 36 inches (0.91m by 0.91m). 1.4. The depth of the wind tunnel in the wind flow direction shall not exceed 48 inches (1.22m); no wind tunnel walls in the direction of wind flow are required. 1.5. The wind tunnel shall provide a wind velocity between 2 m/s to 16 m/s across the entire wind field. 1.6. The wind shear within the wind field shall be fully adjustable across the flow field from a minimum of 2 m/s to a maximum of 16 m/s. 1.7. Total power consumption of the wind tunnel at maximum wind speed shall not exceed 20 kW. 2. Software Module 2.1. The wind tunnel shall have a software module and onboard control computer that provides a graphical user interface (GUI) to a user laptop for control of wind speed and wind shear. 2.2. The wind speed and wind shear shall be adjustable from 2 m/s to 16 m/s using software control. 2.3. The wind tunnel software control shall interface to a user laptop computer via a standard Ethernet connection. 2.4. The software shall be compatible with Microsoft operating systems on a user laptop computer.
