This project will consist of the study, design and construction of a new D‐5 Administration Building with office areas, conference/meeting rooms, and laboratory on the ground floor with offices, server rooms, conference / training rooms, storage rooms, break rooms, restrooms, flexible work spaces, and a basement to meet the District’s current and future needs. The project will seek LEED Silver Certification and strive for Passive House Certification and Zero Net Energy via onsite renewables including solar PV arrays and solar canopies as needed. Technical inspections and field requirements for non-residential buildings will be followed in addition to rigorous testing of building envelope assemblies for air and water tightness and building systems commissioning. Construction will require the phased demolition of the existing concrete-framed building, comprised of a 1 ½-story garage, 2-story office wing, and 1-story administration and materials testing lab wing. The 2-story and 1-story wings are to remain operational while the new building is constructed. The existing communications/cell tower will remain intact and operational during construction. Parking and landscape on the site to the north, east, south, and west sides of the site will be modified as part of the project.
