Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Cambridge Arts Council, an agency of the City of Cambridge requests price quotes from qualified sculpture conservators for work on 20 mosaic groupings totaling 103 individual mosaic panels by Lilli Ann Rosenberg and owned by the City of Cambridge. These 20 groupings that include 103 individual mosaics, require two components in the scope of services: I. Grouping #1-9: The work entails the conservation treatment, and subsequent mount work and installation, of 9 mosaic groupings totaling 84 individual mosaics panels that have been exhibited outside since 1979 and will continue to be exhibited outside at the Miller’s River Apartments at 15 Lambert Street, a property owned by the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA). The mosaics, consisting of painted cast concrete over wire mesh, with embedded ceramic and glass elements, surrounded by painted sheet metal bands, had already suffered from 40 years in the harsh environment of Massachusetts before suffering additional structural damage during removal from brick walls and subsequent storage. II. Grouping #10-20: An additional 11 mosaic groups totaling 19 individual mosaic panels, that are currently mounted in their original locations on the exterior masonry wall of The Learning Circle at 657 Cambridge Street, require deinstallation, packing, transportation, conservation treatment, subsequent mount work, and installation.
