The Contractor will furnish all necessary supervision, labor and materials, tools and permits necessary to perform any requested minor roofing work by the School Department. Materials, supplies, and parts will be invoiced to the School Department, invoiced at the Contractor’s actual cost plus the allowed percentage surcharge for Parts (see section titled “Parts & Supplies Markup” above for details). This bid/contract will cover all minor roofing work, both routine service calls as well as emergency service as requested by the School Department. Work under this bid/contract is all unforeseen and as such there is no known schedule or quantity of work. In all cases where any manufacturer’s recommended schedules for maintenance and/or parts replacement are greater than those specified in this Bid/Contract, said manufacturer’s specifications will supersede any service specifications included in this contract. If this is found to be true for any equipment, the Contractor will first notify the Building Contact Person of this recommendation, and the Building Contact Person will, in writing, either instruct the Contractor to proceed or not proceed with said manufacturer’s higher service standards. Services to be Performed Services required of the Contractor under this bid/contract are any and all typical roofing work that may be performed on any typical commercial, industrial, or school building. This includes all types of roofs (flat roofs, pitched roofs) and related roofing materials (rubber, PVC membrane, asphalt shingles, Slate, built-up tar & gravel, etc.). Typical work items may be, but not limited to, the repair, replacement, or installation of: - repair of roof leaks - repair of shingled roofs (remove damaged/affected shingles and replace with new shingles of comparable quality matched to existing color; replace sub-standard decking as needed) - repair built-up roofs (remove existing tar & gravel and install new tar & gravel; replace sub-standard decking as needed) - repair rubber and PVC membrane roofs (install compatible material patches to affected areas after properly cleaning and preparing the roof area to be repaired. Patches will be adhered with proper adhesives, or through heat sealing; as specified by the roofing material manufacturer.) - any other minor roofing work as requested.
