Neighborhood House Charter School is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids for a comprehensive paving and resurfacing project at our Queen St. campus. The project includes milling and overlaying the main parking lot, expanding specific parking areas, repaving walkways and driveways, installing speed bumps, and resurfacing/painting the athletic court. A. Main Parking Lot: Milling & Overlay (~24,000 sq. ft.) Milling: Mill existing area to a depth of approximately 1.5". All milled materials must be disposed of off-property. Preparation: Clean all areas of sand and debris. Adjust catch basins and manholes to grade. Level low areas with bituminous concrete and compact. Apply tack coat to the entire surface. Paving: Install 1.5" bituminous concrete topcoat (Type I, Class I). Finishing: Compact with vibratory roller; emulsify and sand edges for bonding. B. Parking Expansion (~405 sq. ft.) Excavation: Cut designated area square; excavate grass/loam. Base: Install gravel and compact base as necessary. Paving: Install 1.5" bituminous concrete binder course AND 1.5" bituminous concrete topcoat (Type I, Class I). Finishing: Compact with vibratory roller; emulsify and sand edges for bonding. C. Asphalt Walkway (~1,825 sq. ft.) Demo: Cut area square; excavate and dispose of broken pavement up to 3" depth. Base: Regrade gravel and compact base. Paving: Repave with 3" bituminous concrete (Type I, Class I). Finishing: Compact using power roller; emulsify and sand edges for bonding. D. Driveway Paving (~2,215 sq. ft.) Demo: Excavate existing driveway up to 3" depth; dispose of materials. Base: Regrade gravel and compact base. Paving: Repave with 1.5" Binder course and 1.5" Topcoat (Type I, Class I). Finishing: Compact with vibratory roller; emulsify and sand edges for bonding. E. Curbing, Speed Bumps & Landscape Berm: Remove delaminated/broken asphalt berms; install 104 Linear Feet of new Bread Loaf berm on the surface course. Speed Bumps: Key cut and install 2 asphalt speed bumps to owner specifications. Landscape Restoration: Contractor will not be required to replace loam and seed of any grass edges disturbed during the paving process. F. Athletic Court Surfacing (~4,635 sq. ft.) Surface Prep: Clean surface of loose material; power wash if necessary. Fill cracks with Sportsmaster Crack Magic, Acrylic Crack Patch, or Acrylic Patch binder depending on each crack's width, depth, and severity. Level "birdbaths" (1/8" or deeper) with SportsMaster Acrylic Patch Binder and/or Acrylic Resurfacer patching mix. Resurfacing: Apply Acrylic Resurfacer (min. 2 coats) to provide a smooth underlayment. Color Coating: Apply min. 2 coats of Color Concentrate (Brand: SportMaster or approved equivalent). Note: If proposing an equivalent product, specification sheets must be submitted with the bid. Game Lines: Tape and prime lines to prevent bleed-under; apply one coat of SportsMaster line paint. School Logo: Owner will provide School Logo to be painted on center court. Water Access: Owner will provide an on-site water source for mixing materials and cleaning. G. Line Striping Repaint lines and markings. Existing stencils may need to be blacked out first.
