The building size for most projects will typically range from 1,000 to 40,000 gross square foot range. Properties are often located in compact urban areas with a legacy of under-utilization and vacancy, and some projects may involve repairs/renovations to buildings up to 150,000 gross square feet. Consideration in design, repair, and re-use analysis may include energy costs, sustainability principles, expected remaining useful life of building systems and related life-cycle costs. Particular attention should be paid to the constructability, reliability, durability and maintainability of building systems and materials.
