Specifications include, but are not limited to: concept designs for an Addition as well as identification of spaces in existing CICS locations that will need backfill design and construction to achieve a unified complex; The Addition should be fully connected to the existing Computer Science Building. The strategy for the building’s connection is motivated by the College desire to create a seamless integration between the new and existing facilities. The resulting complex should present a unified experience, as a showpiece for the entire College, favorably comparable to Computer Science buildings found at peer institutions across the nation. The integration anticipates selective renovation of the existing building as part of this project. In performing the Scope of Services for the Project, the OPM shall manage the Architect’s consideration of energy efficiency and sustainable design practices, using the U. S. Green Building Council’s LEED© Rating System, and shall advise the Authority of any financial impact which may result. It is intended that Project will be an energy efficient and environmentally sustainable facility that will meet the requirements of a minimum LEED© Silver Certification. The design team should pursue utility rebates available to this project.
