II. Various grounds maintenance services to include, mowing, weeding and bed maintenance, mulching, minor irrigation repairs and services, tree planting, tree pruning, spring and fall leaf clean-up, in-field baseball field dragging, snow plowing and landscaping services for Town owned land and parks. a. Attached is the list of mowing and additional services required for each location. All services are to occur weekly. All excess materials, from the jobs in Town, can be disposed of, for free, at the Town’s compost pile. Vendor shall be responsible for all labor, equipment and supervision needed: i. Cellucci Field and adjacent slope ii. Miller Field iii. Veterans Field iv. HS/MS Grounds v. Ingleside Park vi. Wheelock Ext. vii. Roger’s berm viii. Old MS Grounds ix. Larsen Rink Grounds **All cut locations must be completed weekly. All locations must be completed no later than Wednesday of each week. ***All additional services shall be completed within one (1) week of the request. b. Additional work for the Town would include, is are requested crew rates for the following services (to be priced per crew/per hour): i. Weeding/ bed maintenance ii. Mulch installation iii. Irrigation repairs / maintenance / winter blow-outs iv. Tree planting v. Tree pruning vi. Spring and Fall Leaf Clean-ups c. Snow Plowing Services: i. Vendor shall provide (3) pick/up trucks equipped with plows and strobe lights and three properly licensed personnel to report directly to the Director of Public Works at the Director’s requested time and to work as directed for all storms forecasted for 3 inches or greater for as long as needed by the Director (4 hour minimum) at a rate of $130 per hour per truck. A minimum notice of 8 hours prior to reporting will be given to the contractor. All fuel and maintenance of the vehicles is the responsibility of the contractor. d. Adopt-a-bed: i. Vendor shall adopt-a-bed to plant and mulch at the Revere Street entrance to Town (at no additional cost). The Town will allow for a sign “Donated by Vendor’s Name”. e. Specifications for In-field maintenance for mowing of baseball fields (Veterans Field, Ingleside Park and Cellucci Field): i. When cutting grass on edges of dirt, clippings need to be blown away from dirt • if grass clippings get into the dirt it will germinate and cause weeds ii. Wheels of machines should not touch dirt when cutting the edges iii. Machines should enter and exit in the middle of the third base line when cutting so clean up is in same spot iv. Edging with proper tools bi-weekly. Weed whacker cannot be used for edging or weed removal because it germinates the dirt v. Dragging dirt with nail drag and drag weekly vi. Aeration and over-seeding in October vii. Spring and summer fertilization
