WiscNet’s members include about 75% of the state’s K-12 districts, most of Wisconsin’s higher education institutions, most library systems, the State of Wisconsin, many local and municipal governments, hospitals, and several nonprofit affiliated organizations. WiscNet and UW-Madison use Juniper hardware for routing, switching, and traffic shaping on their respective standards-based, high performance, research, education, and administrative networks. Equipment in use include M320’s and M10i’s. In addition, certain UW-Madison departments use Juniper hardware to deliver network security services to their respective faculty and staff. UW-Madison and WiscNet intend to purchase hardware and maintenance.
