Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking to continue to expand capacity building services from current initiatives to promote and support meaningful community membership for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Prader - Willi Syndrome and Smith - Magenis. This includes relationship-building, and the development of long-term friendships between people with and without disabilities and includes membership in ones’ local community. These services will include staffing resources, outreach to community organizations, training, technical assistance, dissemination of best practice tools and resources, and organizational support in an effort to develop and share approaches that will enhance the possibility for individuals served by the Department to be fully included in all aspects of community life and establish mutual and meaningful long-term friendships. This procurement includes organizational capacity building and technical assistance to DDS funded providers with a focus on changes at both the organizational and individual level to establish practices and develop expertise that will create new opportunities for individuals to become engaged in a diverse array of inclusive community activities of interest and to establish relationships that may lead to friendships.
