Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Modern classroom environment that addresses needs of all students • Dedicated space for special programs and special populations • Space designed for school-wide assemblies, performances and productions • Multipurpose space that can be used for community purposes after school hours • Student security via improved building layout and access controls • Improved air quality, temperature control, and lighting • Natural light throughout building, including daylight and view in the classrooms • School design that reflects best practices in light of the COVID-19 pandemic • Life cycle costs of operating the School as it relates to future operational budgets • Creation of a net zero energy capable building • Compliance with Northeast Collaborative for High Performance Schools (NE-CHPS) criteria or US Green Building Council’s LEED for Schools (LEED-S) Rating System • CM-at-Risk Delivery Method • Compliance with the Town’s wage theft bylaws • Public participation in all phases of the Project, including the feasibility study • Achievement of project objectives while controlling cost
