Upon notification to proceed, the Designer shall: 1. Review existing conditions, applicable documentation, physical investigation of the existing Canton Fire Station buildings (HQ and Station 2), parking lots, and land. 2. Assume given the age of the buildings new MEP systems are required in the longterm planning and the cost estimate needs to reflect this. A Net Zero building shall be considered as one of the options. 3. Assess ceiling/acoustical tile, floor, wall and roof systems. 4. Determine compliance with applicable codes, accessibility, and adequacy of facilities for both genders. 5. Schedule meetings with a working group including appropriate Canton Fire Department staff members, at least 1 Building Committee member and other Town employees, as required, to learn about the activities of the Fire Department, how the Fire Stations are currently used, current space and parking deficiencies and future programmatic and space needs.
