The English language training program for ELL employees at the Trial Court shall begin as a pilot program. The pilot program shall: Have a class size limited to no more than 25 students. The classes will take place on-site at one of the Trial Court’s downtown Boston locations. The class will take place during the Trial Court’s normal weekday operating hours. The exact schedule shall be determined in collaboration with the successful bidder; however, an afternoon start time of 3:00 or 3:30 PM is strongly preferred. The instruction time will be two-hours per week, taking place as either two one-hour sessions per week or one, single two-hour session per week. Such training shall include, but not be limited to, verbal comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, and the utilization of documents and forms that are required to perform regular job duties. Assess the English language skills of each enrolled student at the beginning and end of the course. The Trial Court requires the selected vendor to provide a report at the conclusion of the pilot that summarizes the progress of the students, as well as any recommendations for improvements to the program design.
