Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Futures First Initiative is a unique collaborative effort of Milwaukee Public Schools, the city attorney'soffice, the mayor's office, the Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee Workforce Development and theCenter for Neighborhood Enterprise. It is funded through a grant provided by the U.S. Department of Labor.The Futures First Initiative provides a portfolio of interventions and services to students, teachers, andschools through which school violence, gang activity, drop outs, and truancy will be reduced and the successstudents have in school will be increased. The school-wide interventions and services are provided to tenhigh schools and vary from one target high school to the next depending on school needs.
