Scope of Improvement/Renovations The Town would like to focus on the following items: • New accessible ramp at the Parallel Street entrance. • Strip existing asphalt shingle roofing, repair any damaged roof decking and install new asphalt shingle roofing. • Replace damaged or missing gutters. Repair portions that can be salvaged. • Recondition existing windows. • Inspect cupola and address issues found. • Inspect and repair wood siding and repaint. It’s assumed that there is lead paint present. • Remove deteriorated exterior door and return the opening to a window, as originally built. • Install a lift from basement to second floor – 3 stops. • Repair deteriorated portions of the large exterior portico column and wood deck. • Replace existing wood bulkhead facing. • Relocate door in masonry bearing wall in basement • Adjust or relocate fire alarm panel to accommodate lift. • Adjust or relocate fire sprinklers and distribution piping to accommodate lift. • Remove existing exterior wood accessible ramp. • Infill exterior door at ramp to accommodate interior lift. III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF APPLICANTS A. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Any firms or individuals interested in providing Designer Services for the Brooks Academy Museum Improvements must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. B. PROJECT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS The following items are those which the Town has determined are important to the success of this project. Any firm or individual considered will need to show that it has the required project experience to undertake this project. Firms/Individuals should not respond to this RFQ if they do not meet or exceed these required qualifications, as the response will be considered not responsive.
