Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is seeking the services of at least two qualified entities to conduct community-engaged research to explore impacts of gambling in Massachusetts. Building on existing efforts The research topic or question proposed by the applicants should seek to build upon the existing body of work. Team composition and the overall approach to the project should consider the principles of community-based participatory research (CBPR). CBPR focuses on social, structural, and physical environmental inequities through the active involvement of community members, organizational representatives, and researchers in all aspects of the research process. Partners contribute their expertise to enhance understanding of a given phenomenon and integrate the knowledge gained with action to benefit the community involved. CBPR shows promise as an approach that can be used to work toward the reduction of health disparities. Report providing findings and recommendations; Presentation of report and recommendations within the community which the research took place.; Presentation of report and recommendations to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
