The Town of Needham is seeking proposals from qualified firms to conduct a classification and compensation study. The study will include all Town non-represented positions and positions within the BCTIA (Public Works Building Maintenance and Trades), ITWA (Administrative), and NIPEA (Public Works) collective bargaining agreements1 (approximately 130 positions, 270 employees) with the exception of Police & Fire Civil Service (uniformed) personnel, and positions within the Needham Public Schools. The Town’s goal is for the selected Consultant to conduct a thorough review of its current classification and compensation system and, if determined, introduce a new classification and compensation system for the Town to meet its needs over the next several years. The recommendations will allow for efficient and effective classification processes, offer fair and competitive wages, comply with state and federal laws and conform to accepted practices, which will ensure retention of qualified workers.
