The City of Salem is seeking bids for jet/vacuum cleaning and CCTV pipe inspection of sanitary sewer and storm drainpipes and manholes. Any contract that results from this procurement shall be for a term of one year, with the City retaining the discretion to extend the contract for two (2) one-year periods. See numbers on the Bid Form. Work under this contract will be performed through Task Orders. Once a Task Order is fully executed and a Purchase Order issued, Work defined in the Task Order must commence within 30 calendar days. Jet/Vacuum Cleaning (Including in Easements) Services will generally be performed on a regularly scheduled workday following a minimum 24-hour notice to the City. Contractor shall clean the pipes and manholes to facilitate inspection, testing, and rehabilitation. Jetting/vacuum cleaning equipment must be in good working condition; City not responsible for downtime due to equipment failure. If repeated downtime/equipment failures City may assess damages. Each designated sewer/drain manhole pipe section shall be cleaned using hydraulically propelled, high velocity jet, or mechanically powered equipment. The equipment selected for cleaning shall be capable of removing dirt, grease, rocks, sand and other deleterious materials and obstructions from the sewer/drainpipes and manholes. Equipment shall be capable of responding in cold weather including combo unit with boiler (420,000 BTU). If cleaning of an entire section cannot be successfully performed from one manhole, the equipment shall be set up on the other manhole and cleaning again attempted. If successful cleaning cannot be performed from the second manhole, or the equipment fails to traverse the entire length between manholes, it will be assumed that major blockage exists and the cleaning effort shall be abandoned as directed by Engineer or City. Blockages, if any, shall be reported to the Engineer or City immediately. Provide tracked jetting unit to jet clean in easements, tracked jetting unit to reach manholes in remote areas with a minimum of 500 feet of 1-inch hose. Contractor shall protect the pipes and manholes from damage that could be inflicted by use of cleaning equipment. Any damage inflicted, regardless of technique, shall be repaired by the Contractor to the satisfaction of the City, at no additional cost to the City
