This project involves the installation of new emergency stop buttons at strategic locations to enhance the safety and provide immediate shutdown capabilities for the designated equipment: (3) gas fired boilers. Design and Planning The electrical contractor shall perform the following tasks. • Review existing electrical schematics and machine documentation (available for review during Site Visit) to determine the appropriate integration points for the emergency stop systems. • Design a safe and reliable electrical circuit that meets all applicable safety standards including but not limited to NFPA and OSHA. • Supply the stop buttons that are required, ensuring they are appropriate for the environment and application. • Develop a detailed wiring diagram and connection schedule; Material Procurement - Procure all necessary material and components, including: • Self-latching emergency stop buttons (typically bright yellow with a red push button) • Enclosures (boxes) to house the buttons and wiring and ensure adequate protection and safety • EMT raceways to be dedicated to the use and continuous from button to boiler, installed in a neat and professional manner, adhering to all electrical condes to ensure the system is wired such that activating any emergency stop button overrides all other functions and initiates a safe shutdown • All necessary hardware for the installation • Properly ground all systems; Testing and Commissioning • Conduct a through testing of the installed systems to verify functionality and adherence to safety requirements in the presence of Trial Court Facilities Staff • Confirm that activating the emergency stop button properly stops the relevant equipment • Verify that resetting the emergency stop button only allows the system to be restarted, not physically start the equipment directly. • Provide documentation of successful testing and commissioning...
