Specifications include, but are not limited to: Task 1: Assess Existing Conditions of Broadband Internet and Cellular Networks and Service Availability Using publicly available data, the Consultant will provide an overview of existing network conditions and current broadband internet providers servicing Barnstable County, including but not limited to telephone, cellular, cable, fiber, and satellite providers. This overview should include information on service providers’ networks and infrastructure (such as maps of cellular towers, fiber lines, and cable access or lack thereof), services provided, reported network speeds, costs to subscribers, number of customers, and locations served. The Consultant will review existing data to provide information on the current broadband internet network and service availability. This review shall include, but is not limited to, characterizing the existing network by carrier or service provider and location, the type of network, current capacity, network speeds as reported by the provider (in megabits per second for upload and download speeds), cost to subscriber, the total number of parcels served and not served (residential, commercial, municipal), and the number of parcels served and not served (residential, commercial, municipal) in Environmental Justice communities.
