The consultant shall work with the ADA Coordinator and Town Department/Division Heads for the following tasks. These tasks should be completed for each department or division that runs/operates programs and/or activities for the public, including, but not limited to, Council on Aging, Recreation, Library, Community Services, Visitor’s Center, and any other department/division as directed by the ADA Coordinator. Task 1: Work with the Concord Commission on Disabilities (COD): The Town of Concord is in need of a consultant to prepare a Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan that wholly complies with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), including modifications made by the ADA amendments of 2008. Any proposed modifications must also comply with the most current Architectural Access Board regulations. The Town intends to enter into a contract for professional services with an experienced and qualified consultant to provide these services. The Consultant will meet with and advise the ADA Coordinator and the Commission on Disability on its best involvement in the process of producing an ADA Self Evaluation Report and ADA Transition Plan Task 2: Self-Assessment Survey: The Consultant shall create a Self-Assessment survey form and arrange to circulate it to Department/Division Heads for the following buildings: Beede Center; Harvey Wheeler Community Center; Concord Library (Main and Fowler branches); Hunt Recreation; 55 Church Street; 141 Keyes Road; Concord Municipal Light Department; Concord Visitors Center as well as the following playgrounds and parks: Rideout; Thoreau Playground; Emerson Field; White Pond; and Ripley Playground. The Consultant shall work with the ADA Coordinator and the Commission on Disability to review and evaluate the responses to the survey form. The survey shall ask for data on each department's ADA compliance resources and needs, including information on effective communication and accessibility of all departmental programs, and activities as required by the ADA. Survey should also include questions about programming that is desired to be offered but is limited by accessibility.
