The Boston Parks Department seeks a contractor to operate the Boston Common Frog Pond. ● The Boston Common Frog Pond is located in the center of the Boston Common. The Frog Pond is an iconic part of Boston Commons history. ● The Frog Pond features a building with public restrooms and the “Pond” which is used as an ice rink in the winter and a splash pool in the summer. The Building has men and women’s bathrooms inside and is expected to be open to the public 7-days a week.This building is protected by the Boston Landmarks Commission. ● The Successful Proposer will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Frog Pond. ● The Boston Parks Department wishes to contract the Frog Pond to an entity which would best serve the interest of the public as an ice rink and splash pool for Boston. The policy of the Boston Parks Department is to ensure the finest possible experience, at a reasonable cost, for the residents of the City of Boston. The Successful Proposer must further the following project goals:: ● Attract tourists and neighborhood residents to the Boston Common. ● Provide a fun inclusive activity in the Boston Common. ● Understands and accepts the unique challenges of operating a property in a City park. ● Maintain the building and surrounding area.
