The City of New Bedford (Owner) Purchasing Department, in conjunction with the Department of Public
Infrastructure (DPI), is soliciting sealed bids for the Coggeshall Street Phase 3 Sewer Separation
Program.
The project work consists of the following:
Wastewater system improvements to the City of New Bedford’s sewer system and installation of new
drain, sewer and water piping for the purposes of sewer separation. The project includes, but is not
limited to furnishing and installing approximately 7,800 linear feet of 12 in through 48” drain pipe,
approximately 2,000 linear feet of 2’x6’, 3’x4.5’ and 4’x6’ box culvert, approximately 700 linear feet of
8-in through 12-inch sewer pipe, sewer and drain manholes and catch basins, construction of a new
outfall with salt march restoration and bank stabilization, removal and replacement of existing PCCP
water transmission main and cutting and removal of abandoned 54” contaminated sewer pipeline.
Work also includes furnishing and installing approximately 3,700 linear feet of 6-in through 48-in water
main, stormwater control measure removal and site restoration, utility relocations, trenchless cured-inplace
liner rehabilitation of existing sewers and drains, service connections, connection to the existing
system, earthwork, excavation support and protection, dewatering and drainage, paving and roadway
restoration work including the installation of new traffic signal equipment, traffic management,
landscaping, coordination with the MassDOT I-195 Viaduct Design-Build project (MassDOT Project
606527), private utility coordination, and all miscellaneous work and cleanup as specified or required
to complete the work.
