Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. Identify utilities within prioritized areas where designating procedures are likely to yield more accurate results than already exist. b. Indicate the best methods for each utility type believed to be present in a given priority area. c. Designate, record, and mark the horizontal location of existing underground utilities and their major laterals to existing buildings. All survey work will be the responsibility of the Contractor. Unless otherwise approved, maintain horizontal accuracy of +/- 1.5 feet (450 mm) in the marking of lines. Survey locations of line markings should be accurate to +/- 0.1 ft. (+/- 0.03 meters) horizontal and +/- 0.2 ft. (+/- 0.06 meters) vertical. All accuracies are expressed as circular error at a 95% confidence level. d. Determine and record the approximate depth of all existing utilities as determined by subsurface utility designating techniques when readings appear valid. This depth indication is understood by both the Contractor and the MAA to be approximate only and is not intended to be used to support final pre-construction design.
