Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of work for this Project includes the demolition of ten (10) remnant piers located on the southeast side of the existing Susquehanna River Bridge. The piers are solid shaft piers that are approximately 20’ above the waterline and are approximately 24’ +/- long by 8’ +/- wide. Project requirements include: Demolition shall not use blasting. Demolition and removal work shall be conducted in a systematic manner, with the least possible disturbance to existing operations and use of existing facilities, both Railroad and that of adjacent property owners. All excavated materials must be deposited and retained in an upland (non-wetland) area. All materials shall be removed from the site and disposed of at a legal dump site. Remove the remnant bridge piers to a depth of two (2) feet below grade or mud line. Where the bedrock is two (2) feet or less below the mudline, remove the remnant bridge piers to the bedrock elevation. Chain drag or diver to be utilized to verify all demolition material has been removed from each pier location. Loft and land sections on debris barge for off-disposal. Displace existing material from the river bottom in accordance with the permit requirements
