Specifications include, but are not limited to: Awarding funds to health systems with primary care provider offices /clinics (hereinafter referred to as “HEALTH CENTERS”) for the purpose of implementing quality improvement methods to increase breast and cervical cancer screening rates among age eligible Maryland residents. Selected applicants will: • Determine breast and cervical cancer baseline screening rates at the clinic level, using calendar year 2018 rates as a baseline; • Educate clinic staff on breast and cervical cancer and its screening guidelines; and • Develop a quality improvement implementation strategy that includes: ▪ At least one process mapping exercise with the health center, using the results to identify areas to target quality improvement efforts; ▪ Practice-level policies to increase cancer screening; ▪ Health System Implementation Plans to execute newly developed protocols, policies, and procedures regarding cancer screening at the health center. Health System Implementation Plans should describe how EBIs will be utilized to increase cancer screening rates.
