Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State Highway Administration is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide snow removal services at the District office facility. Bidders shall bid the following work as an all-inclusive fee, depending on the accumulation amount and service: As needed Pre-treat walkways/stairs/sidewalks and parking lot with approved de-icer prior to accumulation or at start of storm Post-treat walkways/stairs/sidewalks and parking lot with approved de-icer after plowing/snow removal (at end of storm on cleared surfaces) Snow removal for 2” or less accumulation Snow removal for greater than 2” up to 5” accumulation Snow removal for greater than 5” up to 10” accumulation Snow removal for greater than 10” up to 15” accumulation Accumulation depth will be determined by using NWS totals for Salisbury Maryland or measurement on site by both the contractor and SHA representative. SHA has approved Sodium/ calcium chloride flakes or pellets for use Note for service: Not all storm activations will require post-treat or pre-treat, depending on conditions and environmental factors. Respond within 2 hours notification to pre-treat (All walkways, sidewalks, stairs and parking areas (includes the sidewalk on West Road) with approved De-Icer to be applied per manufacturers specifications and best practices. Storms greater than 2” may require the vendor to perform multiple visits during the storm to remove snow and ice accumulations. These visits are in addition to the pre-treatment. Events up to 2” will most likely require 1 visit after accumulation Events up to 2” – 5” will most likely require 1-2 visits during and after storm (must keep main focus areas below 3” with re-treatment as needed) No added cost for re-treatment during storm.
