Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1 The work to be performed under this contract shall consist of replacement of deteriorated sidewalks, ramps, curbs, driveway aprons, and upgrade of the existing ramps & curb cuts in compliance with all Federal, State, and/or Local regulations governing the accessible path. 3.2 The exact limits of work will be established in the field by the County in advance of the Contractor arriving at the site. 3.3 The Contractor shall place information signs at each street entrance and place door hangers at all residences 72 hours prior to starting any work on the streets. Door hangers shall be provided by the county. If a street must be re-posted, the Contractor shall re-post the streets by placing new information signs and new door no-parking signs. The information signs and door hangers shall explain the work schedule, a brief description of the work, the Contractor(s) name and telephone number. 3.4 The Contractor shall place all barricades and traffic controls needed for the completion of work. The contractor will have at least one lane to be kept opening during the operation unless approved by the County in writing. 3.5 The Contractor shall designate a Maryland State Highway Administration Certified Temporary Traffic Control Manager on the site during any construction within the contract period and submit their appropriate certification documents. The contract will be terminated if this compliance is unable to be met. 3.6 All the flaggers must carry a proof of American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) flagging certification certified by Maryland State Highway Administration and wear high visibility safety apparel during construction. The contract will be terminated if this compliance is unable to be met. The flagging will be paid at the unit price bid per hour. The Contractor shall submit all flaggers timesheet with the monthly invoice for payment. CONCRETE WORK: 14.1 This work shall consist of the construction of concrete sidewalks, curbs, driveway entrances, and ramps in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. 14.2 Mix No.3 shall be used on all concrete construction. All concrete shall conform with SHA 902.10.03 (Table 902A). Material submittals will be required prior to starting work. 14.3 The surface areas of the sidewalks/ramps shall be coated with silane penetrating sealer. 14.4 A cement concrete acceleration admixture may be added to the concrete mix in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and these specifications, and per the approval of Engineer. 14.5 The areas disturbed by the construction of all concrete work shall be restored in accordance with Special Provisions of the Specifications. 14.6 In case of conflict between the details bound in these Special Provisions and those found in the Design Manual, Volume IV, these Special Provisions shall prevail.
