Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent of this specification is to establish a contract source to refurbish the existing vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC) used for material handling at the Hi Rate area which is non-operational at present. This lift is the only material handling devise to transport big and heavy motors, pumps, pipes and other materials down to the pipe gallery below grade at the Hi Rate area of the Back River Treatment Plant. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools, instruments, supplies, equipment, supervision and services necessary to repair the Gillespie hydraulic lift to be fully operational as per manufacture’s recommended procedure and established trade and safety practices to perform the following: 1. Replace leaking hydraulic cylinders, hoses, fittings and power unit with new components and hardware which include new replacement hydraulic cylinders, new flow dividers, new electrical control unit, panel, limit switches, new gate contact switches and ground level up/down constant pressure control switches. 2. Calibrate, adjust and test all functions for proper operation as acceptable to the Project Supervisor. 3. Dispose of all removed components and materials properly at no additional charge to city. 4. Clean up debris and Hydraulic fluid spills from the work area and dispose of as acceptable to the Project Supervisor. 5. Coordinate inspection by appropriate jurisdictional authority and obtain operational fitness certificate at no additional cost to city. The sidewalk lift Model H1-S manufactured by Gillespie Corporation is a 4000 lbs, 480V, 3Ph, dual hydraulic jack, Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor (VRC). This VRC is used for handling heavy material to and from the ground level and the pipe gallery below grade for maintenance and operation. The lift is operated by an up/down constant pressure switch near the lift pit hatch opening at ground level.
