Specifications include, but are not limited to: l. Polyester Density: 15 Den & 4 Den polyester blend, 10.0o2 per sq.f\,+l- 5yo For 5.25" and 12.0o2 per sq.ft,+/- 5% for 6.00". 2. Chemical Composition: Varying percentage of polyethylene terephthalate, copoluesters, and proprietary polylefins. The fibers are coated with organic surface finishes at total levels less than .5% ofthe weight of the frber. 3. Physical - Chemical Characteristics: Chemically stable material, resistant to oils, solvents, weak acids, and alkalis. Binder fiber sheaths melt at 240 to 320 degrees F. Binder core and matrix fibers melt at approximately 500 degrees F. 4. Physical Hazards: Polyester fibers will bum when exposed to open flames. De-composition products generated from molten polyester will be composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Under certain conditions and combinations, these chemicals may be subject to auto-ignition. Polyester fibers rnay be extinguished with water and dry carbon dioxide extinguishers. Self-contained breathing apparatus should be used when fighting fires. 5. Health Hazards: No health problems are know to result from normal handling and use. 6. Color: White
