Specifications include, but are not limited to: Weeding and plant maintenance of native landscaped beds at the George Howard Building Government Complex in Ellicott City is required. 15.2 Landscaper must be a certified Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional or provide other native plant identification certification. 15.3 Work to begin April 2024; the County retains the right to cancel award at any time based on unsatisfactory work. 15.4 Contractor responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: 15.4.1 Weeding approximately 7,000 SF of native landscaped beds. 15.4.2 A combination of spray and hand weeding, with hand weeding preferrable whenever possible. 15.4.3 Weeding to be scheduled weekly or every other week from March – Oct and once a month from Nov – Feb. 15.4.4 Add 1 inch of new mulch annually or as needed if washed away; no removal of old mulch (to avoid removing new plants not yet established). 15.4.5 Ability to water during drought and immediately following supplemental plantings. 15.4.6 Ability to work around deer fencing (remove/open to access and return to protect plants when complete). 15.5 Future planted/landscaped beds may require maintenance and weeding (up to 20,000 SF). Please note if you are able to increase efforts in the future. 15.6 No planting will be done through this award.
