Specifications include, but are not limited to: a. After receiving notification from WMHC that services are requested, the Contractor shall respond by telephone to the Contract Monitor or designee with confirmation of physician availability and coverage. WMHC shall provide a minimum of at least 24 hours of advance notice that coverage is required. The Contractor shall respond to the request within four (4) hours of notification of the need for coverage. b. The Physician shall report to the Contract Monitor or designee for assignment and shall sign in and out on the WMHC physician timesheet log upon starting and ending work. The log is to track the days and hours that the physician provided coverage at WMHC as requested. c. Dependent upon the day(s) and hours of coverage, the physician may be responsible for the following services to patients/residents, which will be communicated via the Contract Monitor or designee: i. Perform a complete history and physical on any new admission(s) or an annual history and physical on the anniversary date of admission for an existing resident, documenting a complete review of the biological systems. ii. Complete a Plan of Care in the form of Physician’s Orders and Physician’s Progress Notes, upon each visit, and any nursing consultations and/or lab review. iii. Perform a monthly review of each patient/resident at WMHC and review/renewal of medications, as needed. iv. Attend Interdisciplinary Team Meetings (ITM) to provide medical explanations, if necessary, for all WMHC patients/residents whose medical condition warrants team discussion. ITMs are performed within thirty days of admission and then annually thereafter for each resident at the WMHC. v. Assist in emergency medical placement for the patients/residents of WMHC which may include contacting local hospitals and informing them of the patient/resident’s condition and the types of services that will be required. vi. Seek medical and surgical consultation, as necessary, under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer. vii. Provide guidance to WMHC’s staff, specifically the nursing staff, on the execution of care policies for patients/residents served by WMHC.
